This practical, evidence-based tool helps organizations of any size or sector assess and improve practices across three interconnected areas: worker well-being, environmental sustainability, and organizational performance.
Organizations can use the tool independently and at no cost to assess current practices, identify strengths and opportunities, benchmark progress, and build a roadmap for continuous improvement. Organizations seeking formal recognition can also pursue Triple Bottom Line Certification to validate and demonstrate their commitment to people, planet, and performance. Developed through a research initiative involving Wellness Works Canada, Mitacs, and the University of Winnipeg, the tool is informed by a literature review, employer research, and leading national and international standards and frameworks.
The relationship between worker well-being, environmental sustainability and organizational performance are mutually reinforcing. Measuring all three helps to reduce silos and realize the benefits that each have on each other, as illustrated by the conceptual framework below.
To get started, download the detailed instruction manual or follow the on-screen prompts as you move through each step.
Tip: It's recommended to complete one step at a time and make measurable improvements before moving on.
If your organization already has mature strategies in all three areas, you can progress through each section in succession.
This tool is not a one-time activity. It is the beginning of an ongoing process designed to embed worker well-being, environmental sustainability, and organizational performance into your company's foundation.
Complete the assessment to establish your baseline. Document your current state, readiness, and impact.
Use this data to educate and align your teams, communicating the "why" behind your initiatives and empowering everyone to contribute.
Make it a regular practice to revisit this assessment. This allows you to track progress, celebrate successes, and adapt your strategy.
If you're just getting started, begin with Step 1, create a plan, implement it, and then move to Step 2 after evaluating your progress. Continue this cycle for each step to ensure lasting impact.
Follow these three steps to evaluate and enhance your organization's practices. For more information about being formally recognized, click here.
This initial phase helps you diagnose your organization's readiness to implement changes and lay a solid foundation for the subsequent assessment.
This step involves a detailed self-assessment of existing practices, metrics and its priority across the three key domains.
The final stage is where you document initiatives, set targets, and track the impact of your efforts over time year-over-year.
